At the age of 10, Andi Gibson from Australia experienced what she calls a close encounter with a UFO. Naturally, everyone thought she was out of her mind. That is, until one significant night, 17 years later, when a fleet of alien spacecraft launches an attack across Australia and, for unknown reasons, abducts her mother. To make matters worse, other countries are too offended by being left out of the invasion to offer any help to Australia. Now, it’s up to Andi, her hypochondriac brother Elliot, her retired boxer cousin Keith, and her documentary filmmaker friend Cam to thwart the invasion and save Andi’s mom. With the assistance of Andi’s enigmatic and somewhat embarrassing father, the group must face car-chasing spaceships, martial-arts aliens, giant killer robots, and, perhaps most daunting, a flood of family secrets in their quest to save Australia. It’s going to be one hell of a long night.
