A couple on the verge of abandoning their hopes of becoming parents encounters a doula who offers an enchanting remedy for their infertility issues. However, as she moves in to perform a series of peculiar and demanding rituals, under the supervision of a charismatic yet perilous doctor, they soon discover that the magic involved carries significant risks and that the child they are expecting may not be entirely human.
