Dr. Jill Peterman, a relationship therapist, once hosted the most popular call-in radio program until her life was upended by the live suicide of a caller named Alexis. Deeply affected, Jill decided to leave the show, swearing never to return. However, Stuart, the station’s General Manager, persuades her to relaunch the program to regain the station’s audience. Despite being troubled by past events, Jill agrees to assist her friend, hoping it will alleviate her year-long anxiety.
