American police chief Bill Hixon arrives in the British town of Boston, Lincolnshire, accompanied by his 14-year-old daughter, Kelsey, in an attempt to escape their troubled past. However, the local community, which is both unfamiliar and indifferent to them, challenges Bill to reevaluate his own identity. This leads him to ponder whether Boston requires his presence, or if he is the one who truly needs Boston.
