The series follows Jaye Tyler, a philosophy graduate from Brown University, who finds herself working a monotonous job as a sales clerk in a gift shop near Niagara Falls. Despite her reluctance, Jaye becomes involved in peculiar dialogues with an assortment of animal figurines, including a wax lion, a brass monkey, a stuffed bear, and a mounted fish. These figurines provide her with cryptic guidance, urging her to assist those in need.
