Jennifer, a tough television personality played by Sorvino, finds herself in need of an escape from her hectic life. She decides to drive to a secluded mountain retreat in a small town. However, during her journey, a snowstorm causes her to skid off the road, resulting in a crash. When she regains consciousness, she is suffering from total amnesia. A kind stranger, portrayed by Mathison, discovers her and offers her shelter. As time goes by, Jennifer remains unaware of her past identity, and the stranger, a widower with three children, welcomes her into his family. Gradually, as fragments of her memory return, Jennifer realizes she prefers the new life she has created in the quaint town.
