Ayub Khan-Din, known for his work on East is East, brings us another humorous and heartfelt exploration of family dynamics. This film, adapted from his acclaimed play Rafta, Rafta—which draws inspiration from Bill Naughton’s 1960s classic All in Good Time—is set in Bolton and follows newlyweds Atul and Vina as they navigate the challenges of married life. Their plans for a romantic honeymoon are thwarted by the presence of Atul’s parents, with his thoughtless father, Eeshwar, intent on undermining and humiliating him. As time goes on, the couple’s inability to consummate their marriage threatens their future together. Blending comedy and emotional depth, All in Good Time features outstanding performances from original stage actors Harish Patel and Meera Syal.
