Due to his declining health, Monsieur Henri is unable to continue living by himself in his Paris apartment. Despite his irritable nature, he reluctantly agrees to his son Paul’s idea of renting out a room to a young female student. Instead of being charmed by her, Henri takes advantage of the situation to create complete turmoil within the family.
