In the summer of 1969, Bernard, the son of a fisherman from Gaspé, arrives in Percé seeking employment. There, he encounters Paul, Jacques, and Francis, activists for Quebec’s independence, who have come to establish the ‘Fisherman’s House’. Their goal is to host public discussions and provide accommodation for young travelers. Soon, a diverse group of Quebecers, including artists, hippies, rockers, and hitchhikers, descends upon Percé, unsettling the local authorities. Bernard becomes captivated by the trio’s vision and becomes more deeply involved in their initiative. The following year, he joins the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ) and plays a significant role in the 1969 Summer Crisis.
