In contemporary Burbank, California, and the nearby San Fernando Valley, BENNY BIG-TIME (The BBT) discovers that his brother has been detained on charges related to a series of recent bank heists. Determined to help his sibling avoid the consequences, The BBT decides to use his entire life savings to devise a plan. With the help of his five close friends—ERIK, DEREK, JAMIE, K.C., and KYLE—he aims to create a diversion that will mislead the authorities and exonerate his brother. They have just four days to execute a scheme involving the actual robbery of a small bank, which they hope will generate enough ‘reasonable doubt’ to clear his brother’s name. The BBT plans to meticulously replicate his brother’s alleged crime, armed only with a few folders containing photographs of the bank tellers’ acquaintances, families, pets, and homes.
