Simon Eskenazy, a gay clarinetist living in Paris, enjoys his bachelor lifestyle to the fullest. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when his homophobic uncle presents him with an enticing proposition: if Simon marries and has a child, he will inherit ten million francs and his uncle’s opulent mansion, thus continuing the family legacy. At his cousin David’s wedding, Simon encounters Rosalie Baumann, and with some persuasion from his mother, he sees a chance to meet his uncle’s conditions. The two decide to marry, but not before traveling to New York to meet Rosalie’s Orthodox Jewish family. As Simon attempts to cultivate genuine feelings for Rosalie, he finds himself conflicted by his emotions for his newlywed cousin David.
