Robert Woodfield, a seasoned criminal defense lawyer, has built his career on the principle that everyone, guilty or not, deserves a fair defense, and he consistently delivers on this belief. His latest client, Martin Ritter, a known murderer, is acquitted under Robert’s defense. Afterward, Robert meets a friend for dinner, who hints at needing to discuss something crucial. As Robert is about to leave, masked assailants confront his friend and kill him. Shockingly, one of the attackers reveals himself to be Martin Ritter. Bound by attorney-client privilege, Robert is unable to report what he witnessed. Undeterred, he begins to investigate the mystery that troubled his late friend. His probing uncovers a significant conspiracy, and rather than silencing him, the perpetrators frame his wife for murder to deter him. Despite the threat to both their lives, Robert persists, still in the dark about the full scope of the danger. Can he unravel the truth before it’s too late?
