Henry James’ renowned horror story, The Turn of the Screw, is once again brought to the screen in this suspenseful film set in Spain. The plot follows a young woman, played by Sadie Frost, who is employed as a governess for two children, Miles and Flora, portrayed by Nilo Mur and Ella Jones. Their uncle, the Master, played by Harvey Keitel, has taken on the role of their guardian following the tragic loss of their parents. Initially, the governess is eager about her new position, but she soon finds that Miles and Flora are quite challenging. Additionally, she faces open hostility from Mrs. Grose, the housekeeper, played by Lauren Bacall, who manages most of the affairs at the Master’s estate. As the story unfolds, the governess uncovers a sinister secret tied to Miss Jessel, the former governess, and Fosc, the Master’s previous valet, played by Dayne Danika and Agusti Villaronga, respectively. This film, titled El Celo, marks the directorial debut of Antoni Aloy.
