Akira Tachibana, a 17-year-old high schooler, was once a talented athlete, but an injury has sidelined her from participating in track and field events. During a visit to a family restaurant, she is spoken to gently by the manager, which prompts her to take up a part-time job there. The manager, Masami Kondo, is a 45-year-old divorced man with a child. Akira finds herself developing romantic feelings for him.
