A young reporter named Jin Maddison has discovered that many Christmas customs can be traced back to a secluded town in the Midwest known as Selah. Years earlier, a well-known journalist perished in an accident there while pursuing the same story. Jin heads to Selah, eager to uncover the mystery and suspecting a more sinister reality behind the cheerful holiday. Upon her arrival, she is taken aback by the absence of decorations, lights, and festive signs, as well as the locals’ reluctance to even mention ‘Christmas.’ After a violent incident, she is rescued by Private Investigator Amy Carson, who is investigating several Missing Persons cases that have brought her to Selah. As they dig deeper, they discover that the secrets Selah conceals are far more horrifying than they ever anticipated.
