Rick Launer, who serves as the Ambassador for the Republic of Texas club, dedicates his time to participating in Alamo reenactments and confronting US postal workers to leave Texas territory. However, his actions eventually land him in jail and result in his expulsion from the club he cherishes. Released on bail with a warrant looming over him, he cunningly enlists a band of paranoid misfits to shield him from what he perceives as an “oppressive government.” As a contemporary Alamo drama plays out on national TV, Rick is forced to grapple with the true essence of leadership.
