Following the events of the initial film, Sean Lau has ascended to the role of Commissioner of Police, thanks to a triumphant rescue mission. However, his situation takes a dire turn when his wife and daughter are abducted. To rescue them, Sean must turn to his old adversary, the retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Waise Lee, and persuade him to come out of retirement to assist in the mission.
