
Gary and his group of friends, who are enthusiasts of gaming, renaissance fairs, and some questionable habits, come across a rare medieval board game titled “13 Demons.” They learn that the game has a sinister past and was banned in many countries years ago due to mysterious and unexplained deaths linked to it. The goal of the game is to liberate the Realm of Darkhaven from the 13 Demons of the Apocalypse. Dismissing it as an urban myth, they decide to play, unaware that the 13 Demons are currently roaming the Earth in human form. Gradually, the game takes hold of them, convincing them that they are “The Golden Paladins” on a sacred quest to save the world. However, when news reports surface about local deaths caused by tree branches, baseball bats, hammers, and other weapons wielded by attackers in body armor, the boundary between reality and fantasy collapses, and they are faced with the terrifying truth that they are in way over their heads.
