In 1987, South Korea was under a harsh military dictatorship when a university student died during a brutal police interrogation. The authorities swiftly attempted to conceal the incident by ordering the student’s body to be cremated. However, a prosecutor, tasked with authorizing the cremation, became suspicious of the claim that a young man of 21 had died from a heart attack.
