Ian Bonar stars as Stevie, an aspiring musician with a style reminiscent of Jarvis Cocker and early Elvis Costello. He and his drummer friend Neil, played by Matthew Baynton, work at a call center while aspiring to make it big in the indie music world. To achieve their dream, they need more band members. Enter Billy, a determined guitarist with a penchant for drinking, portrayed by Kieran Bew, and Emily, a somewhat eccentric bassist played by Lyndsey Marshal, who also creates sculptures out of hair.
